Sachin and Babi have been one of the most sought-after design
teams for over a decade. The two met while studying at New York’s Fashion Institute of
Technology in the mid 1990’s. While studying, Babi served as Sachin’s fit model, further
inspiring his vision. As their passion for textiles grew, so did their love for each other,
and they realized they could create something great together. Their elaborate textiles
and embroideries have since been used by the industry’s most esteemed fashion
houses, including Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, Yves Saint Laurent and Nina
Ricci. Through launching their own RTW collection, they aimed to make their careful
details, global aesthetic and eye for couture accessible to the contemporary girl.
In addition to their three-year-old eponymous contemporary womenswear label, Sachin
+ Babi, the couple runs ANK Embroideries, where they design and manufacture
designer and couture embroideries, and Ankasa, their luxury home furnishings brand.
The India-born power couple design for a woman with the spirit of a world traveler, who
is a downtown girl at heart and embodies the artistry of design with effortless
confidence. Their designs have captured the attention of key celebrities and influencers,
utilizing delicate blends of fabrics and a beautiful array of colors that speak to her every
